And just to be explain: the main reason this is a problem is that
this might distract the most knowledgeable members of the team from
reading the mailing-lists, because of sheer volume.

Personnally, I still try to read a large part of it, but I know that I
sometimes miss important messages to which I should answer, and this is
partly due to not really being attentive after I've read through the
same problem again.

I expect other project members to do the same, or even worse to not read
the mailing-lists at all...
