Linux-HA
The Linux High-Availability project provides failover abilities to Linux.
It can do 2-node IP takeover for an unlimited number of IP interfaces.
It heartbeats over:
unadorned serial links arranged in a ring topology
UDP/IP heartbeats over ethernet (or similar)
PPP/UDP using a serial ring topology like the first case
According to OpenBSD discussion forums & mailing lists, failover
abilities is a missing piece to our beloved operating system.
So I did a preliminary port of Linux-HA to OpenBSD, based on the current
CVS tree. The next step is to test the beast and to begin code auditing.
Does anyone already started a port of that software ? Alan Robertson, the
maintainer, forwarded me a mail he sent to Theo some times ago about his
hope to see Linux-HA ported to BSD platforms. But no answer so far.
Best regards,
