Re: JDK 1.3?



That's an excellent idea.  Whatever the current conventional wisdom is on
Java (pseudo open source, etc), it would definitely be a significant
factor in choosing OpenBSD as a platform.  Just among people I know
locally there seems to have been an big increase in Java development.
Most of these folks opt for Solaris or Linux, but coud easily be persuaded
by the security/stability of OpenBSD if there was significant Java
support.

An OpenBSD Java subproject (even if nothing more than an email list) would
go a long way toward snagging more adopters.  While my development skills are
pretty limited, I'd be happy to provide some bandwidth/server space for
such a sub-project.
