Hmm...what I had in mind is something similar to the qmail port. After
you do make install, at the end, it echos to the screen, the default
mailer.conf settings for qmail. This can be done for exim as well, and
if need be, we can install a sample copy in
/var/exim/docs/mailer.conf.example etc.
What do you think?
