typesafe languages

hi all

has anyone else played with porting cyclone [1] or mono [2] to openbsd? i
have given both a whirl.

cyclone-0.3 ported ok and built just fine, passed all of its tests. the
only work was in convincing the build sytsem that openbsd was an
acceptable system to work on. haven't tested the current release, 0.5.

mono was a lot more work, i detailed it previously. basically the system
builds and starts to run, but during thread initialization it failed. this
is all pre-pthread fixups (and pre-propolice) so this could all be fixed
by now.

i lack the time to go back and prepare current ports of these and ensure
they work. however, i'm surprised that few people are investing their time
in these typesafe languages on openbsd. after all, they're designed with
functionality as well as security in mind.
