Add in /etc/fonts/fonts.conf
you see:
        <dir>/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts</dir>
        <dir>/usr/share/fonts</dir>
        <dir>~/.fonts</dir>
change for:
        <dir>/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts</dir>
	<dir>/usr/local/lib/X11/fonts</dir>
        <dir>/usr/share/fonts</dir>
        <dir>~/.fonts</dir>

and run fc-cache..
