See archives, this has been beaten to death, repeatedly.
Summary:
1) Why? If you can't compile a DJB program yourself, you probably
shouldn't be running it. Compiling his stuff is trivial, much easier
than /PROPERLY/ implementing a mail or DNS server. The guy knows how to
write portable programs, and much of his SW was written on OpenBSD.
2) at times, ports have seemed to have been against the will of the
author, at least how we would wish to do it. (short version: he puts
things in strange places. We try to keep things in "standard" places
(at least, our definition of standard). DJB doesn't like this).
3) See #1. 8)
