problems with mail/p5-Mail-SpamAssassin

Hello all,

Has anybody else had pronl;ems with mail/p5-Mail-SpamAssassin?

When a piece of spam slipped through last week, I noticed that spamassassin
daemon wasn't running, so I just started it again manually
("/usr/local/bin/spamd -u spamassassin -d -x -q -m 64"), not bothering to
check that is was runnign because I was too busy with other stuff. Yesterday,
when another piece of spam I checked spamd and it wasn't running. So I tried
to restart spmassassin again, this time checking if it was running. No joy.

I would start it, see it in the lis shown by top for a few seconds, and tyhen
it would disappear. I even remove dthe -d option, which sends spamassassin to
the background, and added --debug --syslog=stderr to print out as much info as
possible. Absolutely nothing. Even perl -d wouldn't work. Spamassassin would
just terminate every time.

So I coppied /usr/local/spamd to a different file and added "print '> test\n";
exit 1;", moving it down a line at a time to find out where ther poblem was.
It was the "use Mail:SpamAssassin;" line. If I start perl with no args and
then type in "use Mail::SpamAssassin;" and hit enter, then in 2-3 seconds perl
would exit, even though I hadn't hit ^D or ^C.

I went and removed all various p5-* ports and reinstalled mail-/p5-Mail-
SpamAssassin so that it would redownload all the lates needed files. No joy,
still the same problem.

The last time I new SpAssassin was working was the first week of June because
that was the last time my email client filtered some email into my spam folder
(I don't delete it automaticlaly, I send it to SpamCop.net). On 9 June I
rebuilt my system from the latest cvs'ed sources.

Has anybody else using SpamAssassin had a problem with it like this?
