I have often made the same mistake you are now making. I will also
continue to make this mistake - it is called learning.

The mistake is that you raise issues which are only issues if you do
not have a clear and complete understanding of the subject matter.

At the end of it all, it is a matter of trust. Do you trust those that
develop and implement standards to know what they are doing ? My
answer is "sometimes".
