Why won't you just shut up?
Some of you make me goddamn sick. Seeing posts
like "hey, just port that from freebsd", or
"why can't the openbsd people do an openipf"
only shows how ignorant and dumb some of you are.
Coding a new packet filtering software is NOT
something you can do over-night. Especially not
when people like you keep shouting on the *tech*
mailing list, asking questions that have been
answered over 10 times.
I believe the openbsd development team are working
on ideas, I really doubt an OS like openbsd will
let something like that hurt it. And I think that
instead of suggesting 'solutions', you should shut
up. The only help that can be really considered
now is some people who are actually willing to put
some efforts into code.
And no, to that dude who wanted a layer 7 filtering
support in the new firewall, I can assure you it
won't be even considered, unless you want a major
degrade in performance. There are other tools for
that.
And bringing up that gcc issue was really smart too,
with all the pressure Theo and the rest got on
solving the firewall/nat problem, they *don't* need
people telling them they need to find replacements
for other software.
All in all, don't ask questions on 'tech' while they
obviously belong to 'misc' (or, just read the other
posts before you decide you have something to say).
The openbsd people know what they're doing. Unless
you can offer real help (ie., coding), shut up.
