If I'm renumbering 50 machines, and I stop halfway through, then every ARP
request or reply is going to generate error messages on 25 machines, meaning
that the logs of every machine will be full of crud. I consider that to be
a needless annoyance. Yes, it should be enabled by default (though I say
again, a less obscure message would be more useful), but it should be
possible to switch it off.
