ELF on i386?

Hi,

I also wonder whether it is possible and how much work
it might be to cross-compile OpenBSD to i386 but with
ELF and not a.out as native format?

I mean, ELF execution is in the kernel, binutils do like
ELF (esp. PIC) much more than a.out, other systems are ELF.

It especially would make possible to use a wine (Win32 Emulator)
more recent than Feb 1999 (thus eliminating my need to keep a
copy of windoze for starcraft around) *grins*
