Netgear 410TX

I've hunted through the back issues of the mailing list and the news groups 
and have yet to find any thing that matches the issues that im haveing with 
my laptop. its a ThinkPad 701C and i'm using the problimatic netgear FA410TX 
PCMCIA NIC, i'm installing 3.0 but this also happend when i tried to install 
2.9:
heres what happens. i do a fresh install via floppy and full everything down 
via ftp, no problem. but when i restart it the NIC always times out, i've 
tried to bring it up manualy via ifconfig, no luck, ive checked all the 
connectons and even tried to pull it out and then drop it in the other slot 
(2 pcmica) still no luck. the NIC is functional in windows ( i have another 
harddrive that i put win 98 on to test the card and it works in windows) 
i'm out of ideas any one have any thing else that i can try or any experence 
with problems like this. thanks so much
