(fwd) Odd atapiscsi cdrom error with Tyan Tiger 200 motherboard

Hello,

I seem to be having a very unusual (occasionally intermitent) problem
with OpenBSD 3.0 on my Tyan Tiger 200 (S2505D)

I just upgraded from 2.9 to 3.0, and now I'm having trouble with my cdrom
drive.

On boot, pciide configures bus 1 to compatability (it detects that a cdrom
is attached?)

atapiscsi then takes over, and has some problems-

The unusual thing is that about once in 20 times, this doesn't happen, and
the cdrom drive worked fine under 2.9.

I noticed that atapiscsi was tweaked under 3.0- has anyone else seen this?

relevant dmesg output below- has anyone else seen this?

Thanks,
