Done it, and the kernel compiles perfectly. I now even hunted
down the problem with "isic_cd": You have to have a pci
card configured in the kernel config file. Strange.

I now have a semi-optimized kernel including enough "sane" stuff to not
lead to any linker problem, and it seems to fit my needs.

But now i've got a new problem: isdnd seems to be unable to use
the raw b channel device for user-ppp. When starting isdnd, parsing the
isdnd.rc file yields the following error:

isdnd[22101]: ERR ERROR parsing config file: unknown parameter for keyword
"usrdevicename" at line 89!
isdnd[22101]: ERR there were 1 error(s) in the configuration file,
terminating!

Line 89 is, like most of isdnd.rc, copied from the example file. It reads:

usrdevicename		= rbch

I guess that's a leftover reference to the i4brbch device. Since
this i4b implementation was ported over from NetBSD, the correct
name would be bchan, so i tried that with negative result.

Can you think of a fix ? When i get isdnd to run, i can finally
try out *real* ip connectivity and confirm if your patch works.

Thanks again,
