The screen saga - problem solved

I hesitate to say "there's something wrong with curses on the pmax", but..

I built ncurses (with little modification) from the Debian distribution of
Linux and linked screen against that.  And voila...  It works perfectly.

I'd appreciate anyone's comments as to why screen, of all curses
applications, would mess up with OpenBSD's standard curses package.

I'm not desperate enough to take a debugger to it.  :)
