I've used a (borrowed) Boxhill RAID on the system just fine.
But it is a scsi device (it mimics being a big ass disk).  The
key advantage of that is that if your computer blows up, you can
just move the RAID device to another machine and don't have to
worry about moving configurations.

Now, wouldn't it be just neato to have a SCSI-3 device that could
talk to 5 or so EIDE devices on the back end.  For $400.
