I tried the current version (4.00b2) on 2.4, but ran into two problems
that I haven't had any time to look into yet:

1. All messages were sent to all destination channels, despite a config
file that said otherwise.

2. Sending the process a HUP killed it. In debug mode, it reported a
syntax error reading the config file (which was read without problem
during initial startup and had not been modified during operation).

With my current schedule, it's not likely I'll have time to investigate
anytime soon.

And speaking of this package, does anybody know what the relationship is
between nsyslog and syslog-ng? It seems like one is based on the other
(same features, same config file format), and both seem to be under active
development.

Syslog-ng's web page is at http://www.balabit.hu/products/syslog-ng.html.
Nsyslog's web page is at http://cheops.anu.edu.au/~avalon/nsyslog.html.

Cheers,
jonathan
