Hello. I just installed and tried out the snapshot on my old Mac SE/30.
This snapshot seems to run fine with the exception of the X server.
Since 2.5, I have been unable to get the Xmac68k server to run. The 2.4
server runs fine on the same machine, even now. Here is the output from
the failed run (run via an ssh login to capture the messages):
# Xmac68k
Screen 0 at 0x4216040, 512 by 342, rowB 64, fbbase 0xbf9000.
Screen 1 at 0x421c040, 512 by 342, rowB 64, fbbase 0xa3c1000.
Fatal server error:
Couldn't allocate client map in XkbInitDevice
#
And the successful run with the old 2.4 X server under the latest OS:
# Xmac68k-2.4
Screen 0 at 0x41e7040, 512 by 342, rowB 64, fbbase 0xbf9000.
Screen 1 at 0x41ed040, 512 by 342, rowB 64, fbbase 0xa3c1000.
^C#
The dmesg for this SE/30 is appended below. The kernel is the
bsd-generic.tar.gz image.
Admittedly, it's a pretty small screen to run X, but it does look pretty
cool when X is running with the mlvwm Mac-like window-manager. I've
even got the BSD Daemon's head in place of the Apple logo! :)
