fd detection fails

hello

i sent several messages about the problem in past. the problem still exists in
pre-2.6 snapshot (attached Oct 25th msgbuf). AFAIK, the source tree is forzen
for 2.6 release, so does this means that 2.6 won't detect floppy drive?

2.5 does with no problem.
