Sorry, I wasn't trying to say that you shouldn't test this or that your
problem is even related to jumper settings.  I was merely suggesting that you
check that also, as that may eliminate the errors you see, because I just ran
into a problem like this last week, and realized that I had one of my
computers running with the wrong jumper setting for quite a while!!
