When you edited the disk partition table, did you not create an 'a'
partition?

During install, when you see this text:

"Initial label editor (enter '?' for help at any prompt)"
">                                                      "

Here you should create the _unix_ partitions (inside the DOS/MBR partition
fdisk just created for you, after "use the *entire* disk" etc).

A good example of what to enter and how is in the CD cover manual. I
suggest reading, and following, that.

Here's an example of how it may look when you're done. (Note; this is not
following the cover manual):

(still inside the label editor, i.e 'disklabel')
> p                       (p = print the disklabel)

(some lines describing the disk skipped)

(FYI; I have 'a' as /, 'b' swap, 'd' /usr, 'e' /var,
 and 'f' as /d (most people call this /home or sth, perhaps))
