AFAIK, it's all the 10Mb/s only ones (BSDI sez: "Intel EtherExpress 16
... Performance is inadequate for use on server machines. See Device
Recommendations.") and some of the early 10/100 cards. The 10/100
cards released in the last year or two (Intel EtherExpress Pro/100+ or
100B) seem to be excellent, though.
We've used them to replace most of our old DEC DE500A cards, configured
for 100TX and full duplex, and I can push 40Mb/sec bidirectional
between two servers for hours with 0 packet loss.
Even with those, however, there can be wild differences in actual
hardware. Some Intel cards use a completely different chipset for the
physical level interface even under the exact same model name, and
there's pretty much no relationship between Intel cards with different
model names.
