Re: updating remote 2.5 to current

Based on the plenitude of public and private comments, there seems to 
be a lot of interest in this issue (discounting the "use NT", "use 
FreeBSD", et alia).  One reports automating by maintaining the etc 
files on a CVS server to use those merging facilities.  Another reports 
an effort to build the entire distribution into packages.

Hopefully, with careful attention, the 2.7 distribution will be easy 
enough to maintain that it won't take a wizard to update.
