Question: AIC-7896 SCSI driver

The systems manager at work is generally a fan of FreeBSD, but decided 
to order OpenBSD to put on some external systems.  The 2.6 CD arrived
and then we noticed that the AIC-7896 isn't supported.  I have two
questions (and if this should be on misc let me know and I will move
it there):

1. Is there support in the -current or any snapshots for the AIC-7896
   adapter?
2. Is anyone working on a driver for this adapter?  If not could
   someone give me pointers no porting drivers from FreeBSD or NetBSD?
   I have time and am willing to do this.
