OpenBSD: login.c possible bug?

Hi;
	I am using 3.2 source tree to build a file system with crunch and I run into
problem with login.c. I have checked login.c with the one in 3.4 source tree
and there is not significant difference between the two.
	My file system boots up all the way to the login prompt and when I type
"root", this is the result that I get:

OpenBSD/pmonmipsel (WG6000.willowglen.com.my) (tty00)

login: root
(login.c)
(login.c): localhost = WG6000.willowglen.com.my, domain = willowglen.com.my
(login.c): as =
(login.c): uid = 0x0
(login.c): username = root
(login.c): break - 1
(login.c): tty = tty00, ttyn = /dev/tty00
(login.c): break - 2
(login.c): break - 3
(login.c): break - 4 fflag = 0
(login.c): break - 5
(login.c): break - 6
(login.c): break - 7
(login.c): break - 8
(login.c): break - 9 fflag = 0
(login.c): break - 10, style = passwd
argv[0] = passwd
argv[1] = -s
argv[2] = login
argv[3] = root
argv[4] = daemon
passwd: illegal option -- s
usage: passwd [-l] [-y] [-k [-n name] [-i instance] [-r realm] [-u
username[_(_dot_)_instance][_(_at_)_realm]] [user]
(login.c): break - 11
(login.c): break - 12
Login incorrect
login: Login timed out after 300 seconds

OpenBSD/pmonmipsel (WG6000.willowglen.com.my) (tty00)

login:

	The login.conf of the target fs has this entry:

# Default authentication methods
auth-defaults:auth=passwd:

# Default authentication methods for ftp
auth-ftp-defaults:auth-ftp=passwd:

	Could someone please advise what should I do to get this working..? Thanks.

Regards,
TEH
