Softupdates makes the system freeze!

Hi!

$ uname -a
OpenBSD pc89225 2.8 GENERIC#336 i386

Installed from ftp://ftp.inet.no/ sept. 29th.

Enabling softupdates on my machine makes the system freeze solid, and
there's only a hard reset left ...

I can find nothing in the logs indicating whats up, and I've just tried
to reproduce it for the same reason. :-(

All it took to crash the system was to try and do a `make install' of
/usr/ports/graphics/pngcrush, but I've seen it take more work to
accomplish.

The system stopped for 3-8 sec., and after that it froze solid, I
couldn't change virtual terminal anymore (and at no point could I get
back to X).
It happened right as the first line of compileroutput was spewed out.
Generally it's high disk activity that triggers it.

I run the system without softupdates enabled now, and it's running very
stable, but I would sure like it running with softupdates.

Are softupdates brokena?
Has anyone experienced something similar?

I've attached a gzipped dmesg bacause it might be hardwarespecific.

Regards
		Morten
