Re: funky SCSI numbers

Correction: Those discs are coasters. I dd'd about a gig of zeroes from
a disc that I burned in OpenBSD-2.7 with cdrecord-1.6.1.

<later...>

Corrected Correction: Those discs are not coasters. I am able to mount
them and read files. Perhaps I am confused or something is broken. :/

I have these errors in the dmesg and in blue characters on the console:

/"
cd0(aha0:3:0): Check Condition on opcode 43
    SENSE KEY: Illegal Request
     ASC/ASCQ: Illegal Field in CDB
cd0(aha0:3:0): Check Condition on opcode 8
    SENSE KEY: Illegal Request
ASC/ASCQ: Logical Block Address Out of Range
cd0(aha0:3:0): Check Condition on opcode 8
    SENSE KEY: Media Error
   INFO FIELD: 115523
     ASC/ASCQ: L-EC Uncorrectable Error
"/

Are these errors significant?

This toybox runs FreeBSD and Linux without problems -- cdrecord sees the
burner as SCSI device 0,3,0 and works properly in both. I think that my
hardware is good.

If you would like me to try something then I can hose the machine for
testing purposes.

BTW, I have compiled and tried a custom kernel that is very lean, but I
have the same problems.
