default sendmail problems

Any idea how I fix this, generated by running newaliases?
/etc/mail/aliases: line 13: MAILER-DAEMON... cannot alias non-local names
/etc/mail/aliases: line 14: postmaster... cannot alias non-local names

relevant lines are
MAILER-DAEMON: postmaster
postmaster: root
root: toor

where toor is a local user account.
