Being a clueless newbie and comp28.tgz or keep.tgz having the same
ending as i.e. 'zsh-3_1_.tgz', the information *.tgz 'not a package ?'
doesn't help much - because I don't know about 'mismatching
patterns', 'table contents', why 'tar ... failed' and, specially,
what to do or look for next.
So, additionally, to the other suggestions you may want to take into
account something like:
'try
su
tar xpzf /path/to/keep.tgz'
... well, if it's correct.
