Hey, I don't think he'd complain about a functional sparc. It doesn't
make sense to waste valuable time and money on something that might work
and might not work, though.

My wife used to raise money for the University of Wisconsin. Non-profits
have to be very careful about the donations they accept; some donations
can cost the organization a lot more time and money than they're worth.
It may take a developer an hour or two to find out the equipment is
worthless, and it may cost the developer time and/or money to get rid of
it (the city of Madison charges to dispose of computer equipment, for
example).
