Hmm, I first tried to untar base28, comp28, man28 and misc28 onto
my system, and still could not compile ports ("tar command failed
with exit code 256"). Then I tried to do a make build but it dies
somewhere at libiberty (I started a second make build right now,
because I lost the exact error message).
Until then I can't build any ports. I there some way to build and
install a ports without creating a package? This would probably
solve my biggest problem for now.
Cheers

[FORTRAN] will persist for some time -- probably for at least the next decade.
