I agree.  Since you can sort on things other than the subject line,
modifying someone else's mail isn't necessary. BTW, A more reliable method
for filtering mail is to check the Sender: header. For misc_(_at_)_openbsd_(_dot_)_org,
the sender is:

Sender: owner-misc_(_at_)_openbsd_(_dot_)_org
