Hi
I've been running sendmail with the "-q30m" flags, and wanted to try to
make sendmail listen on port 25, so i changed "-q30m" to "-bd -q30m" in
/etc/rc.conf, rebooted.
Sendmail try start up, says (all there is in the logs):
Oct 29 01:23:25 pc89225 sendmail[983]: starting daemon (8.10.1): queueing_(_at_)_00:30:00
Oct 29 01:25:49 pc89225 sendmail[20100]: starting daemon (8.10.1): SMTP+queueing
@00:30:00
Oct 29 01:25:49 pc89225 sendmail[20100]: NOQUEUE: SYSERR(root): opendaemonsocket: daemon MTA6: can't create server SMTP socket: Protocol not supported
Oct 29 01:25:49 pc89225 sendmail[20100]: daemon MTA6: problem creating SMTP socket
Oct 29 01:25:49 pc89225 sendmail[20100]: NOQUEUE: SYSERR(root): opendaemonsocket: daemon MTA6: server SMTP socket wedged: exiting
!?
What's going on? I've used it to send mail without any problems for more
than a month runing current, having done a make build twice now (last
time was 5-6 days ago with fresh -current source).
% uname -a
OpenBSD pc89225 2.8 PC89225#2 i386
My kernelconfig isn't very different from GENERIC, only debugging stuff
is taken out of it, together with everything NFS, COMPAT_SVR4 ...
nothing networkrelated (sans NFS of course).
dmesg can be seen at http://home1.stofanet.dk/liebach/dmesg if you want
to!
I haven't touched any files but /etc/mail/aliases WRT sendmail (and I
did run 'newaliases' after that :-).
I really hope this is something I've overlooked, but I can't think of
what ... and it's 2 AM now; goodnight! :-)
Regards
Morten
