|In some ways, we are stunned. Only 5 people have sent in dmesg reports with
|cardbus ethernet cards. We know there are a significant larger number of
|people out there using them.
Funny, I just installed the 19 Oct snap on a machine with such a card
yesterday. dmesg will of course follow once I plug it into a network.
Anyway, I tried a DHCP install, and I think I even saw that my little
xe0 was configured correctly, just before the message was washed away by
an indefinite torrent of "arp: not found" messages repeating at 1-second
intervals. I dug up static numbers and everything went smoothly from
there.
With a little poking around, I think I worked out that dhclient runs
dhclient-script, dhclient-script runs arp, and no arp was to be found on
floppyC28. I realize that this is annoyingly nonspecific as error
reports go, but if arp isn't there, it isn't there.
Did I do something stupid, or is it really broken?
