I didn't say ports all the ports apps work fine but apps that would otherwise compile fine and configure properly always fail when they get to qt.

Funny, I don't see a problem with any of the ports that use qt.

It may be that you ought to read a bit of qt's documentation to understand
what's needed.

On OpenBSD, qt is installed as is fit for the system: lib under /usr/local/lib
and includes under /usr/local/include/X11/qt


Properly designed applications that need qt should include configure switches
to tell them where to find the qt library and includes.


try configure --help, for instance.
