Re: QT-1.45 from ports not working

On Tue, Oct 31, 2000 around 07:17 -0600 Joe Blow may have written:

**sigh**. you answered Marc Espie's message, but skipped Dave Taira's
(see below). what leads you to believe that there's a problem with
the Qt library? can you tell us what port is not working? for
example, you are trying to build blah, so you do:

        cd /usr/ports/somedir/blah
	make
	make install
	blah

which command complains about libqt? make? make install? or what
you're trying to build (i.e. blah)? please read the message below,
and answer the questions!

hope this helps, -john

*sigh* Read my message again. You have provided a cut and paste of
what did *not* give you any problems.

Again I ask, what do you mean by this? Do you have source that is
failing to compile? Do you have precompiled binaries that give
you an error when you try to execute them?

Presumably something, somewhere, is giving you an error that makes you
think something isn't "finding" the QT libs. What are you trying to do,
and what is the error?

Don't say "bug" unless you mean "bug". See
http://www.tuxedo.org/~esr/jargon/html/entry/bug.html

In this case, you could've asked if there's anything you need to do
after you've installed the port with `make; make install`.
