nfsd problems w/2.7?

I am running OBSD 2.7 on a fairly basic i386 machine (named strago).
I have a drive on strago that is a shared /home, mounted through
NFS as /home for 2 Debian Linux boxes.

Recently, the Debian boxes have been freezing up on me, giving me
an error of "nfs: server strago not responding, still trying", and
(multiple) errors of "nfs: task [number] can't get a request slot"
before the Debian machines lock up, requiring a reboot.

The error messages seem to occur only when I/O is actually being done;
unzipping/untarring files and clearing out netscape's cache seem to be
two operations that will kill nfs fairly consistently.

It doesn't seem to be an ethernet or cabling problem (status LEDs on
NICs look okay, and I can unmount and remount /home perfectly
fine, fixing the problem, if I detect it before the Debian machines
crash...

I've tried restarting nfsd with the options -tun 16 (rc.conf suggests
cranking the 4 for busy servers), and haven't been able to reproduce the
situation since the change, although it had only been happening
intermittently before.

Any further suggestions on what I can do to help alleviate these
problems?
