After a number of days of archive and google
searching, I'm still having a problem with a patched
3.2 install running default chroot Bind 4.9. I've had
the server running DNS for a while working fine with
just one forwarder. Now, I need to have two
forwarders and lookups are not being correctly
returned.
named.boot has a line like:
forwarders 204.x.x.x 10.x.x.x
Name resolution only appears to work with whatever
server is first in the forwarders line, essentially
ignoring the rest. It is not configured with option
forward-only.
Using nslookup and switching to the second server, say
10.x.x.x, returns results fine. Using tcpdump to
watch queries shows that my server is eventually
sending requests to the second forwarder...and getting
replies in some cases. But nslookup just reports "non
existant domain" or whatever the standard negative
result is.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Todd
