Well this assumes that the Constitution is still in effect. Is it?
One would hope so.
This sure indicates starkly where Free{Speech, Press} still exists
and where it is only now historic words.
Some would interpret the below title as a attempt to discredit Theo,
"Programmer Claims Agency Dropped Funding"
Particularly from those media outlets that changed the headline
from this..
"DARPA Cancels OS Project After Comments, New York Times"
(Some countries would call that a controlled press.)
Are there no tv-programs/Radio-talk-shows that have covered this
story? OR is it of interest only to paper/web media? One would
think that this begs the question. Is anything but complete
silence FREE? Recall hearing somewhere that silence is affirmation.
Could it be fear? Perhaps this is a intended surgical strike on
all developers whom would support the OpenBSD project.
It does appear the intent was to send a very strong
signal across the bow of the project. That message is loud and clear.
Otherwise at the very least the timing would have been much more tactful.
