I ha[d|ve] probably the same problem on a (still) 3.3 box

includes some diagnostic output. The behaviour described in this mail
isn't entirely correct, the magic reboot effect lasted only about two
days)
Named would answer slowly or time out after running OK several months
and keep this behaviour. Restart/reload/reboot didn't help, but
swapping the forwarders for some others did help. I know that is
strange, because the individual forwarders seemed OK, too.
Perhaps this is the same prob, perhaps another. It's probably gone
now, at least it didn't manifest for over four months.
