Hello misc@,
strange things are happening:
0) Got myself an ibm pcmcia isdn/modem/gsm combo (says ``MODEL
ST5614GIWWMSR'' on the back) to use in a IBM T20 Notebook (dmesg w/o
pcmcia cards plugged follows).
1) plugged it in -> "nothing" happened.
a) System irresponsive for about three seconds
b) Most of the time there's just no "/bsd: "-entry in
/var/log/messages
c) Sometimes there's "/bsd: cbb0: bad Vcc request
$ grep "bad Vcc request" /var/log/messages | cut -d " " -f 7- | \
sort -u | grep -v wi0
cbb0: bad Vcc request. sock_ctrl 0x0, sock_status 0x3000031f

cbb1: bad Vcc request. sock_ctrl 0x0, sock_status 0x30000386
cbb1: bad Vcc request. sock_ctrl 0x0, sock_status 0x30000710
cbb1: bad Vcc request. sock_ctrl 0x0, sock_status 0x30000719
cbb1: bad Vcc request. sock_ctrl 0x22, sock_status 0x30000710
2) Started isolating:
a) pcmcia/cbb works with my WLAN pcmcia card
b) gave windows xp a go, that OS popped up the "new hardware found"
balloon, showed right name - but didn't find a driver.
3) Started reading, found nothing.
4) Had to bother misc@
Am I missing something? Any hints?
Thanks for your time,
Max
