It seems that my question was not very clear. The cartridges are only
frames for standard ata harddiscs to avoid having to dissassemble the
whole box to swap them. The question is simply if it is possible to add
and mount a new ata harddisc that was not present at boot time without
having to reboot the machine. (Hints to helpful manpages would also help.)
