It seems you should at least try to ask.
That isn't what Jordan Hubbard told me a couple days ago on the phone.
He said that Apple management is extremely hard to get free-will
donations out of, even for his own FreeBSD project. There has to be a
clear ROI for Apple to be willing to "donate" anything. And it has to
be very specific, not nebulous "maybe..."
