apmd & cpu0

Hi,

I have sucessfully installed openbsd 3.6 on a HP nc6000 laptop (i386).

I started the apmd and run apm which gave me the out below:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Battery state: unknown (absent?) --> The battery is present
Battery remaining: 0 percent --> almost full
Battery life estimate: 0 minutes --> at least 4 hours
A/C adapter state: not connected --> This is the only output that is right.
Power management enabled
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Is this known problem? Any solution?
This has nothing to do with other functions that apmd can manage like standby
since those functions are working well(for example using apm -S).

I also installed 3.5 on compaq Armada E500 and the apm returns everything
correctely.

In the begining of the dmesg output :
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
cpu0: Intel(R) Pentium(R) M processor 1400MHz ("GenuineIntel" 686-class) 598 MHz
cpu0:

avail mem = 482471936 (471164K)

apm0 at bios0: Power Management spec V1.2 (BIOS managing devices)
apm0: AC off, battery charge unknown
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Does the first line mean that my cpu0 is at speed 598MHz?
My cpu fan is load which could be indication of that its running at full speed
or something else!!!!!!

How could I see which cpu speed I am running? is there a way to
decrease/increase the cpu speed when needed depending on AC vs battery mode??

The 3.5 installation on the Armada E500 is silent.

Regards
Bash
