Hello. I'm trying to get Firefox 1.0 running on OpenBSD 3.6. So far i
haven't found a package for it, so i'm working with the Linux version
that i downloaded directly from www.mozilla.org. I have Linux emulation
set up correctly (i've tested it by copying and running other X
applications from a Linux machine). I installed Firefox to
/usr/local/firefox on a Linux machine, then copied it to the same
location on the OpenBSD machine. When that didn't work, i also tried
putting it in /emul/linux/usr/local/firefox. I did copy all libraries
that Firefox requires, and put them in /emul/linux/usr/lib and ran
ldconfig to regenerate ld.so.cache.
When i try to run the program it creates a ~/.mozilla directory for its
settings (so i know that it actually is doing something), but it never
displays a window. After awhile top shows it as paused:
PID USERNAME PRI NICE SIZE RES STATE WAIT TIME CPU COMMAND
4358 dramaley 18 0 12M 9924K idle pause 0:01 0.00% firefox-bin
Has anyone else tried to run Firefox 1.0 on OpenBSD 3.6? If so, what did
you do that i missed? Is there something else i should try to make it
work?
