Re: Package and file finder for OpenBSD (finally!)

I have a two line addition I make to my .profile that accomplishes
this task from the command line. I've tried emailing espie to add
functionality like it to the pkg_* tools but I guess he's too busy.
I've started to re-write it in Perl so he can just cut and paste it
into his code, but i've just never finished it.

I don't mean to offend you but it doesn't offer the same functionality as Foofinder. Did you even try it out before posting?

Making a program that is capable of searching for package names
takes just 10 mins. Searching for files inside packages
or package names combined with searching for files is another
thing. Foofinder is capable of that, please give it a shot :)
The DB has a total of 22k of packages and nearly four million
files inside..

I thought of a way to get it to use another ftp-mirror.
Does user-settable ftp:// base url sound stupid to you folks?
For those that use cookies the same base url would be restored
when searching again.

PS. I fixed the bug that having cookies set off triggered,
it *should* work properly now but if not please feel
free to report it back to me. I was a bit tired when I
fixed it, probably missed something ;)
