I'm having problems using kernel PPPoE in recent snapshots. I'm running
a OpenBSD/sparc on a SPARCStation 20 and was successfully running kernel
PPPoE on a snapshot from 3/9/05. After updating (fresh install) to a
snapshot dated 4/21/05 I get the following errors on boot:
starting network
spppcontrol: SIOCGIFGENERIC(SPPPIOGDEFS): Invalid argument
pppoe0: phase establish
add net default: gateway 0.0.0.1
pppoe0: phase network
pppoe0: phase terminate
pppoe0: phase dead
The pppoe0: messages loop infinitely (and quickly) and the PPPoE
connection is never established. My hostname.pppoe0 is as follows:
pppoedev le0
!/sbin/ifconfig le0 up
#!/sbin/ifconfig pppoe0 debug
!/usr/sbin/spppcontrol -v \$if myauthproto=chap
myauthname='username_(_at_)_domain_(_dot_)_com' myauthkey='password' hisauthproto=none
!/sbin/ifconfig \$if inet 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.1 netmask 0xffffffff
!/sbin/route add default 0.0.0.1
up
Straight out of the man page, and worked perfectly until recently - what
am I missing, or is this a bug?
