snort 2.1.2 - postgresql support problem

I have installed 3.6 /usr/ports/net/snort using the
env FLAVOR=postgresql . The build seems to go fine, and it
appears to agree I asked for postgresql if you look at the work
directory you see both
w-snort-2.1.2-postgresql and snort-2.1.2

I get the error
snort error
database: compiled support for ()
database: configured to use postgresql
database: 'postgresql' support is not compiled into this build of snort

In the end I find if I do
env FLAVOR=postgresql make install
it all works. I guess I either don't understand ports well enough, or
didn't think you need to specify the flavor twice.


Anyway .. FYI
