On that note, I just rebuilt mozilla-firefox-1.0.2p2 and it doesn't start. I tried to investigate, but I got nowhere a solution... however, I found this in /var/log/messages:

Apr 9 22:28:32 rain gconfd (maxx-19469): starting (version 2.8.1), pid 19469 user 'maxx'
Apr 9 22:28:32 rain gconfd (maxx-19469): Resolved address "xml:readonly:/var/db/gconf/gconf.xml.mandatory" to a read-only configuration source at position 0
Apr 9 22:28:32 rain gconfd (maxx-19469): Resolved address "xml:readwrite:/home/maxx/.gconf" to a writable configuration source at position 1
Apr 9 22:28:32 rain gconfd (maxx-19469): Resolved address "xml:readonly:/var/db/gconf/gconf.xml.defaults" to a read-only configuration source at position 2

Maybe this is related, maybe not ... I can't make any sense out of it.

I reverted back to my p0 package (I skipped p1 apparently) and it "works for me" again.

Please ignore if these changes rely on very recent stuff in packages firefox depends on, my last complete rebuild was shortly after the library-bump and DWARF days. Feel free to knock me over with a cluestick, too.
